Polar White Gravel 16–32mm – Premium Decorative Stones

Polar White Gravel 16–32 mm is the largest size in the Polar White gravel range. Its bright white colour and larger stone size make it well suited to areas where the gravel is intended to remain clearly visible as part of the garden design.

The 16–32 mm size works best in larger flower beds, borders, around shrubs and trees, in substantial planters and across decorative landscaping areas. Compared with the smaller Polar White gravel sizes, it gives a bolder and more textured finish.

Properties and Benefits

  • Material: Natural decorative stone

  • Size: 16–32 mm

  • Colour: Bright white with subtle natural variation

  • Shape: Angular and irregular

  • Surface: Natural stone finish

  • Appearance: Larger, more pronounced decorative pieces

  • Durability: Suitable for long-term outdoor landscaping

  • Maintenance: Easy to clean and maintain

Applications

The 16–32 mm grading is best used where a larger decorative stone is more suitable than a fine gravel finish.

  • Large Flower Beds: Suitable around shrubs, grasses and established plants.

  • Garden Borders: Creates a clearly defined edge between planting areas, lawns and paving.

  • Around Trees & Shrubs: Works well around larger plants where smaller gravel can look too fine.

  • Large Planters & Pots: Suitable as a decorative top layer in substantial outdoor containers.

  • Feature Areas: A good choice for decorative sections where the white stone itself is part of the design.

  • Rock Gardens: Works well alongside boulders, feature stones and architectural planting.

  • Paving & Edging: Can be used alongside patios, paving slabs, steps and other hard landscaping.

Using 16–32 mm Polar White Gravel

The 16–32 mm size is the largest Polar White gravel size and gives the most visible, textured finish of the three options.

It is better suited to larger beds, borders and feature areas than small planters or narrow spaces. If a finer and more even surface is required, the smaller Polar White gravel sizes may be a better choice.

A suitable landscaping membrane can be installed underneath outdoor areas to keep the gravel separate from the soil and make the area easier to maintain.

Colour and Natural Finish

Polar White Gravel has a clean white to off-white appearance that stands out well against green foliage, darker soil, timber and paving.

The larger pieces make the individual shape and natural markings of each stone more noticeable. The colour may also appear slightly different when the gravel is wet.

Natural Stone Variations

Polar White Gravel is a natural stone product, so differences in colour, shape, markings and texture should be expected.

The stated 16–32 mm grading is approximate, and a small proportion of stones may fall slightly outside this range.

Product photographs are intended to represent the material as accurately as possible, although colour may vary slightly depending on lighting and screen settings.

Care and Maintenance

White decorative gravel can show leaves, soil and other garden debris more readily than darker stone. Regular removal of loose material will help keep the surface looking clean.

The gravel can be gently rinsed with water when required. Installing a landscaping membrane underneath also helps reduce soil contamination over time.

Transport and Delivery

We deliver decorative gravel throughout the UK, with quantities available for smaller garden projects as well as larger landscaping work.

Larger orders may be supplied on pallets. A firm, level surface such as concrete, paving or asphalt is required for unloading with a pallet truck.

How to buy

4 steps to the perfect gravel project

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned landscaper, follow these steps for a professional result every time.

  1. Measure your area

Measure the length and width in metres. For irregular shapes, break into rectangles and add them together.

  2. Choose your depth

Lay at least twice the largest stone size. Paths and borders (4–8mm) 30–40mm; driveways (8–16mm) 40–50mm; coarse ground cover (16–22 / 16–32mm) 60–80mm.

  3. Calculate quantity

Use our coverage section above or the collection calculator. Always add 10% for settling and waste.

  4. Order & prepare

Order in 20kg bags — 50 bags make a full tonne, with more saved the more you buy. Lay your weed membrane before spreading the gravel evenly.
