Polar White Gravel 8–16mm – Premium Decorative Stones

Polar White Gravel 8–16 mm is a bright white decorative stone suited to a wide range of garden and landscaping projects. This medium grading gives a fuller finish than the smaller 4–8 mm size while remaining easy to use across beds, borders and paths.

The 8–16 mm size is a good all-round option for general landscaping. It is large enough to show the shape of the individual stones but still small enough to create an even decorative surface.

Properties and Benefits

  • Material: Natural decorative stone

  • Size: 8–16 mm

  • Colour: Bright white with subtle natural variation

  • Shape: Angular and irregular

  • Surface: Natural stone finish

  • Appearance: Clean, bright and evenly textured

  • Durability: Suitable for long-term outdoor landscaping

  • Maintenance: Easy to clean and maintain

Applications

The 8–16 mm grading is a versatile choice for many common garden uses.

  • Flower Beds: Suitable around flowers, shrubs and ornamental grasses.

  • Garden Borders: Creates a clean separation between planting areas, lawns and paving.

  • Paths: Can be used for decorative garden paths and lightly used walkways.

  • Planters & Pots: Works well as a top layer in medium and large outdoor planters.

  • Around Shrubs: Gives established planting areas a tidy finished surface.

  • General Landscaping: Suitable for larger decorative areas where a bright white gravel finish is wanted.

  • Paving & Edging: Can be used alongside patios, paving slabs and garden edging.

Using 8–16 mm Polar White Gravel

The 8–16 mm size is the medium Polar White gravel size, sitting between the finer 4–8 mm gravel and the larger 16–32 mm gravel.

It is a practical option where the 4–8 mm size may look too fine, but the larger Polar White gravel size would be too dominant. This makes it well suited to beds, borders, paths and general decorative landscaping.

A suitable landscaping membrane can be installed underneath outdoor areas to help keep the gravel separate from the soil and make maintenance easier.

Colour and Natural Finish

Polar White Gravel has a clean white to off-white appearance that contrasts well with green foliage, dark soil, timber and darker paving.

The stone may appear slightly different when wet, and individual pieces can contain subtle natural markings or tonal variation.

Natural Stone Variations

Polar White Gravel is a natural stone product, so differences in colour, shape and surface texture should be expected.

The stated 8–16 mm grading is approximate, and a small proportion of stones may fall slightly outside this range.

Product photographs are intended to represent the material as accurately as possible, although colour may vary slightly depending on lighting and screen settings.

Care and Maintenance

White decorative gravel can show soil, leaves and other garden debris more readily than darker stone. Regularly removing loose material will help maintain its clean appearance.

The gravel can be gently rinsed with water when required. Installing a landscaping membrane underneath also helps prevent soil from mixing with the stone over time.

Transport and Delivery

We deliver decorative gravel throughout the UK, with quantities available for small garden projects as well as larger landscaping work.

Larger orders may be supplied on pallets. A firm, level surface such as concrete, paving or asphalt is required for unloading with a pallet truck.

How to buy

4 steps to the perfect gravel project

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned landscaper, follow these steps for a professional result every time.

  1. Measure your area

Measure the length and width in metres. For irregular shapes, break into rectangles and add them together.

  2. Choose your depth

Lay at least twice the largest stone size. Paths and borders (4–8mm) 30–40mm; driveways (8–16mm) 40–50mm; coarse ground cover (16–22 / 16–32mm) 60–80mm.

  3. Calculate quantity

Use our coverage section above or the collection calculator. Always add 10% for settling and waste.

  4. Order & prepare

Order in 20kg bags — 50 bags make a full tonne, with more saved the more you buy. Lay your weed membrane before spreading the gravel evenly.
