The Large Olimp Gabion Planter Basket is a round outdoor planter designed to combine planting with a decorative stone-filled gabion surround. Its larger dimensions give it more presence than the Medium Olimp, making it a good choice for feature planting, wider patios, entrances and larger landscaped areas.

The central opening is designed to hold a plant pot, while the outer section can be filled with decorative pebbles or cobbles of your choice.

Choose Your Own Garden Stone

This basket is supplied without decorative stone, giving you complete control over the finished appearance.

Bright white pebbles can produce a clean contemporary look, black or dark stones create stronger contrast, while beige, grey or multicolour stones provide a softer and more natural finish.

The larger basket also gives the stone more visual presence than the Medium Olimp, so your choice of fill can make a significant difference to the final appearance.

Filling the Gabion Basket

Place the basket on a firm, level surface before adding the stone.

Decorative stone is placed within the outer section of the basket, leaving the central 32 cm planting space clear for the plant pot.

Choose stones that are large enough to remain securely inside the basket openings. Once the gabion has been filled, it will become considerably heavier, so we recommend positioning it in its final location before adding the stone.

Large Olimp vs Medium Olimp

The Large Olimp measures 60 cm in diameter and 39 cm high, compared with the smaller Medium version at 53 cm diameter and 33 cm high.

Its 32 cm insert pot diameter also provides more planting space than the Medium Olimp's 25 cm opening.

The Large Olimp is therefore better suited to larger plants, wider outdoor spaces and more prominent garden features, while the Medium version is more practical for compact patios, smaller planting areas and locations where space is limited.

Garden Design

The rounded gabion construction gives the planter a softer appearance than traditional square or rectangular gabion baskets.

It works well with ornamental grasses, flowering plants, evergreen shrubs and architectural foliage. The stone filling can also be matched with gravel, garden borders or decorative stone already used elsewhere in the landscaping.
