Silver Granite Gravel 16–22mm – Premium Decorative Stones

Silver Granite Gravel 16–22 mm is a hard-wearing natural stone with a mix of silver, light grey and darker mineral tones. Its angular shape and speckled granite surface give it a clean, understated appearance that suits both modern and traditional garden designs.

The 16–22 mm grading is a practical size for paths, borders, planting areas and larger landscaped surfaces. When wet, the grey tones become deeper and the natural mineral pattern of the granite is more noticeable.

Applications

Silver Granite Gravel is a useful general-purpose landscaping stone. Its neutral colour makes it easy to combine with planting, paving and other garden materials.

  • Garden Paths: Suitable for creating decorative paths and walkways.

  • Flower Beds: Can be laid around shrubs, flowers and ornamental grasses as a decorative ground covering.

  • Garden Borders: Provides a neat separation between lawns, beds and paved areas.

  • Around Trees & Shrubs: Gives established planting areas a tidy finished surface.

  • Driveways: The angular shape makes it suitable for decorative driveway areas when installed over a correctly prepared base.

  • Paving & Edging: Works well alongside paving slabs, patios, steps and garden edging.

  • General Landscaping: Suitable for larger gravel areas where a neutral grey finish is required.

Using 16–22 mm Silver Granite Gravel

The 16–22 mm size is large enough to show the natural texture of the granite while remaining practical for covering larger areas.

For paths, beds and decorative areas, prepare and level the ground before laying the gravel. A suitable weed-control membrane can be installed underneath to keep the stone separate from the soil and reduce weed growth.

For driveways and frequently used areas, the gravel should be laid over a properly prepared and compacted sub-base.

Colour and Natural Finish

Silver Granite contains a mixture of light grey, silver, white and darker grey mineral tones. The individual pieces are naturally speckled rather than completely uniform in colour.

When dry, the gravel has a lighter silver-grey appearance. Rain or rinsing darkens the stone and makes the natural granite pattern more visible.

Natural Stone Variations

Silver Granite Gravel is a natural quarried product, so differences in colour, markings, shape and texture are normal.

The stated 16–22 mm grading is approximate, and some pieces may fall slightly outside this range.

Photographs are intended to represent the stone as accurately as possible, although the colour may vary slightly depending on natural batch variation, lighting and screen settings.

Care and Maintenance

Silver Granite Gravel requires little maintenance once installed. Leaves and loose debris can normally be removed with a rake, brush or garden blower.

The stone can be rinsed with water when required. Using a landscaping membrane underneath decorative areas also helps prevent soil from mixing with the gravel over time.

Transport and Delivery

We deliver decorative gravel throughout the UK, with quantities available for small garden projects as well as larger landscaping work.

Larger orders may be delivered on pallets. A firm, level surface such as concrete, paving or asphalt is required so the pallet can be unloaded safely using a pallet truck.

For larger quantities or landscaping projects beyond the options available online, please contact us for a quotation.

How to buy

4 steps to the perfect gravel project

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned landscaper, follow these steps for a professional result every time.

  1. Measure your area

Measure the length and width in metres. For irregular shapes, break into rectangles and add them together.

  2. Choose your depth

Lay at least twice the largest stone size. Paths and borders (4–8mm) 30–40mm; driveways (8–16mm) 40–50mm; coarse ground cover (16–22 / 16–32mm) 60–80mm.

  3. Calculate quantity

Use our coverage section above or the collection calculator. Always add 10% for settling and waste.

  4. Order & prepare

Order in 20kg bags — 50 bags make a full tonne, with more saved the more you buy. Lay your weed membrane before spreading the gravel evenly.
