Italian Rosso Verona Gravel 16โ€“22mm โ€“ Premium Decorative Stones

Italian Rosso Verona Gravel 16โ€“22 mm is a natural decorative stone from Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น, recognised for its warm blend of soft pink, salmon, terracotta and light cream tones. The stone has a naturally angular shape and subtle colour variation, giving landscaped areas a warm finish without looking overly uniform.

The 16โ€“22 mm size is practical for general garden landscaping, including paths, borders, planting areas and decorative ground cover. Its lighter colour also works well alongside greenery, timber and paving.

Properties and Benefits

  • Origin: Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

  • Material: Natural stone

  • Surface: Textured natural finish

  • Appearance: Warm Mediterranean-style colouring

  • Maintenance: Easy to maintain and suitable for permanent decorative areas

Applications

The 16โ€“22 mm grading makes Rosso Verona a useful all-round landscaping gravel for both smaller gardens and larger outdoor areas.

  • Flower Beds: Suitable for covering soil around flowers, shrubs and ornamental grasses.

  • Garden Borders: Creates a clear finish between lawns, planting areas and paving.

  • Paths: The angular stone forms a practical decorative surface for garden paths and walkways.

  • Planters & Pots: Can be used as a decorative top layer in outdoor containers and larger planters.

  • Around Trees & Shrubs: Gives established planting areas a cleaner finished appearance.

  • Decorative Landscaping: Suitable for larger areas where a warm-coloured gravel surface is required.

  • Paving & Edging: Works well alongside patios, paving slabs, timber edging and other hard landscaping materials.

Using 16โ€“22 mm Rosso Verona Gravel

The 16โ€“22 mm fraction provides a good balance between appearance and practicality. The pieces are large enough for the individual colour and texture of the stone to remain visible, while still being small enough to produce an even gravel surface.

For garden beds and landscaped areas, we recommend preparing the ground before installation. A suitable weed-control membrane can be laid underneath the gravel to separate it from the soil and make future maintenance easier.

Colour and Natural Finish

Rosso Verona Gravel contains a natural mixture of pink, peach, salmon, terracotta and pale cream shades. Individual stones may contain different tones and markings depending on the natural material.

The colours generally become deeper when the stone is wet, while dry gravel has a softer and lighter appearance.

Natural Stone Variations

As this is a natural stone, differences in colour, shape, markings and texture should be expected. These variations are part of the material rather than defects.

The stated 16โ€“22 mm size is an approximate grading, so a small proportion of pieces may fall slightly above or below this range.

Product photographs are intended to represent the material as closely as possible, but colour can vary slightly depending on lighting conditions and screen settings.

Care and Maintenance

Rosso Verona Gravel requires little ongoing maintenance. Leaves and loose garden debris can normally be removed using a blower, brush or rake.

The stone can also be gently rinsed with water when required. Using a landscaping membrane beneath the gravel helps prevent the stone from mixing with the soil and keeps the finished area easier to maintain.

Transport and Delivery

We deliver decorative gravel throughout the UK, with quantities suitable for small garden projects through to larger landscaping work.

Larger orders may be supplied on pallets. Pallet deliveries require a firm, level surface such as concrete, paving or asphalt so the goods can be unloaded safely using a pallet truck.

For larger quantities or landscaping projects beyond the options available online, please contact us for a quotation.

How to buy

4 steps to the perfect gravel project

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned landscaper, follow these steps for a professional result every time.

  1. Measure your area

Measure the length and width in metres. For irregular shapes, break into rectangles and add them together.

  2. Choose your depth

Lay at least twice the largest stone size. Paths and borders (4โ€“8mm) 30โ€“40mm; driveways (8โ€“16mm) 40โ€“50mm; coarse ground cover (16โ€“22 / 16โ€“32mm) 60โ€“80mm.

  3. Calculate quantity

Use our coverage section above or the collection calculator. Always add 10% for settling and waste.

  4. Order & prepare

Order in 20kg bags โ€” 50 bags make a full tonne, with more saved the more you buy. Lay your weed membrane before spreading the gravel evenly.
